Obituary of Donald William Steffen

Steffen, Donald W. age 85 passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Covenant Health Care. Don was born November 15, 1934 in Saginaw, MI the son of Max and Myrtle (Price) Steffen. Donald was united in marriage to the former Lois E. Rau on June 20, 1953; she survives him. Together they raised six children, Sharon (Mike) Harvey, David (Cheryl), Mark (Bambi), Timothy (Joann), Connie (Ken) Ellison and Terri (Bob) Landry. Don's grandchildren were the light of his life. They include Traci, Jaimi, Jessica, Kerry, Matthew, Benjamin, Chris, Ryan, Joshua, Jeremy, Sara and Emily. Along with his sixteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother in-law, Floyd (Grace) Rau, a sister in-law, Ruth (Robert Jennings) Riedeman and many nieces, nephews and friends. Donald retired from C & O Railroad after many years. He loved to travel, dance, color, woodwork and mow his beautiful lawn. He never missed an opportunity to tease and pick on everyone to make them laugh and smile. Don always put his family first; no matter what. "We love you Dad". He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. FUNERAL: A Memorial service is being planned at a later date. MEMORIALS: Those wishing to do a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
