Obituary of Elsie D. Sledzinski

SLEDZINSKI, (Retzloff) Elsie D. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 in the comfort of her home. She was born on February 25, 1918 in Midland, Michigan to the late Daniel and Victoria (Griebe) Retzloff. She married Walter Sledzinski on May 11, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. He predeceased her on October 1, 1981. Elsie graduated from Bay City Central in 1935. She was a dedicated member of Kochville United Methodist Church. She truly enjoyed being an active member of the United Methodist Women. Elsie loved planting flowers in her yard and tending to her vegetable garden. She also loved nature; listening to the birds that fed off her bird feeders. Elsie was a feisty and witty woman that enjoyed a good laugh. Surviving is a sister Helen Peters. Elsie was preceded in death by her husband Walter and her brother Edwin Retzloff. Elsie's family would like to express a special heartfelt thank you to Sally Grzegorczyk and the caring staff of Almost Heaven Homecare and a dear friend Judy Jackson. FUNERAL- Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Kochville United Methodist Church, 6030 Bay Road. Rev. Susan Bennett Stiles will officiate. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Freeland. VISITATION- Family and friends are welcome to visit at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. MEMORIALS- In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Kochville United Methodist Church Building Fund.
