Obituary of Oscar Hernandez
Please share a memory of Oscar to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Oscar Hernandez, age 76, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 3, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Adela Hernandez. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Sue Hernandez; children David (Teresa) Hernandez and Deidre (Ed) Lawrence; grandson, Dallas Hernandez; siblings Manuel (Lydia) Hernandez, Alex (Gloria) Hernandez, Mary Lou (David) Rendon; and many extended family and friends. Oscar was an avid sports fan; he loved to participate and watch sports on TV. Due to an injury he sustained early in life, he wasn't able to play as much as he wanted, but he did develop a love and passion for competitive wheelchair tennis. He also loved to swim. One of his most recognized traits was that of generosity; family and friends would often randomly receive gifts that he sent in the mail. A private family visitation with a graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2020. Oscar will be laid to rest at Georgetown Cemetery. In memory of Oscar and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcares.com or at www.DeislerFuneralHome.com
