Obituary
Obituary of Shirley Ann Anegon
Please share a memory of Shirley to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Shirley Ann Anegon, of Saginaw, 86, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2020, at Great Lakes Rehab Center in Saginaw. Shirley was born on April 11, 1933 in Saginaw to the late Stanley and Stella Klonoski. She attended schools in Saginaw, graduating from St. Andrew High School in 1950.
On January 28, 1956, Shirley married James C. Anegon in Saginaw and they made their home in Saginaw and Bridgeport Township until moving in 1987 to the AuGres area on the shores of Lake Huron. They lived there until 2000, before moving briefly to Alger and then returning to Thomas Township in Saginaw County.
Shirley worked at General Motors Transmission in Saginaw in the accounting department after graduation from high school for about seven years. She thereafter worked part time for various accounting firms in Saginaw, and at Jacobson's in downtown Saginaw for about 10 years until she and Jim moved to AuGres. While in AuGres, Shirley worked as an administrative assistant for the AuGres Sheep Factory which manufactured woolen products where she enjoyed travelling to trade shows with her husband. Shirley also worked on numerous election boards and did a great deal of volunteer work, especially for the American Red Cross.
Shirley enjoyed bowling, golf and playing cards, especially euchre and pinochle. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren. Shirley and Jim were inseparable during their 64 years of marriage and enjoyed their years on the lake in AuGres, several winters in Arizona, and the many and varied trips they took during their marriage.
Three infant daughters and one son, Timothy M. Anegon, predeceased Shirley. Survivors include her husband, Jim; son, Anthony C. (Mary Kay) Anegon of Lewiston, Idaho; daughter, Christine (Dean) Compton of Saginaw; daughter-in-law, Coleen Anegon of Saginaw; brother, Ronald (Grace) Klonoski of Kolohala, Maui, Hawaii; sister, Sandra Klonoski of Saginaw; and brother, Michael (Joanne) Klonoski of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Shirley is also survived by seven grandchildren, Sarah Crosby, Matthew Compton, Morgan Compton, Courtney Anegon, Nicole Bailey, Edward Anegon, Angela Anegon and eight great-grandchildren with a great-grandson due in March.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Great Lakes Rehab in Saginaw for the wonderful care Shirley received during her stay there up until the time of her passing.
