Obituary of Terry P. Hoeppner

Died peacefully on Friday March 13, 2020 after a short illness at Ascension St. Mary's in Saginaw MI at the age of 71. Born to the late Wilbert and Anna June (Ludgin) Hoeppner on August 6, 1948, Terry led an interesting and adventurous life. On August 10, 1968 he married Marlene Rolfe. As a veteran of the Vietnam War he served with the US Army onboard an HU-1 "Huey" medical evacuation helicopter. Upon returning from the war he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He also earned Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Licensure as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P), and an Aircraft Inspector Authorization (IA). He was passionate about aviation and inspired many people to become pilots especially his eldest daughter. Terry had numerous hobbies including restoring aircraft and vintage sports cars, motorcycle racing, travel and renovating various houses and properties. Terry is survived by his wife, Marlene, along with their daughters, Amy (Matt) Henning, Kristin (Jeff) Hoeppner-Rupp; grandchildren, Wyatt and Georgia Henning; brother, Dale Hoeppner and sister, Diane Beckman; sister-in-law, Lori Guthrie, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. According to his wishes, cremation has already taken place and a private ceremony will be held at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Those wishing to express sympathy may consider donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Great Lakes Bay Animal Society in Midland, MI and "I Support the 1%" Veteran Food Pantry in Saginaw, Michigan.
