Obituary of Kathy Ann Hoeppner

Kathy passed away February 13, 2020 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 70. She was born February 9, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of John and Kathryn (Cottrell) McGarrity. Kathy graduated from Arthur Hill High school class of 1968. She was united in marriage to Dale Hoeppner on July 12, 1969 in Saginaw, Michigan. Kathy held several jobs over her lifetime until her retirement in 2012; such as, secretarial work at Swan Valley Schools Systems, bookkeeping for Gaertner's Greenhouse and customer service representative for Mid Valley Insurance. Kathy enjoyed playing Volleyball and was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage. She served on the James Twp. Board for 12 years and was a liaison and bucket brigade for the James Twp. Fire Dept. Kathy was a lifetime member of the Second Presbyterian Church and was very active in the church. She also was a proud member of the Tri-County Horse Association and the Michigan Horse Association. Kathy is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Jody (Sonia) Hoeppner and Shelia Hoeppner; five grandchildren, Elexia, Ethan, Katie, Josh and Zack; sister, Johnice McGarrity; nieces, Nicole and Molly, great nieces and nephew, Samantha, Mia, Annabella and Maxwell; aunts, Carole Fowler and Suzanne Oleszewski and many cousins. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents. FUNERAL: A memorial service will take place Friday, February 21, 2020 at 11:00 AM from Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd. Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Theodore McCulloch to officiate. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather Thursday, February 20, 2020 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM from Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State St.) and again Friday morning at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In Lieu of flowers those planning a memorial please consider James Twp. Fire Association or "I support the 1%" Veteran Food Pantry.
