Loving husband, father, and son passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was 53 years old. Brian was born February 8, 1966 in Saginaw, Michigan to Leonard and Geraldine (Rogalski) Markusic. He married Susan Lowden on October 10, 1992 in Saginaw, Michigan, she survives him. Brian graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1984. He attended Northwood University, earning a Bachelor's Degree. Brian worked in executive sales for many years. Brian was a faithful member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Freeland.
He loved being outdoors, spending his time landscaping his yard and sitting around a campfire with his family. Brian was a history buff and enjoyed collecting beverage and Coca Cola memorabilia as well as antiques. He loved classic movie and television shows and was often heard quoting his favorite lines. He was a lover of all animals, especially his pets. Brian was an avid model railroader. He enjoyed spending time with his friends where they would engage in friendly debate. But, what he really loved most was spending time with his family, especially his two sons Connor and Logan.
Surviving are his wife, Susan; children, Connor and Logan Markusic; parents, Leonard (Geraldine) Markusic; brother, Nicholas (Kimberly) Markusic; many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Ray Ogden.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents; his in-laws, George (Marie) Lowden and brother in-law Robert Lowden.
FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2020 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 300 Johnson Street, Freeland, MI. Rev. Fr. Andy LaFrambois will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will be held on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Agnes Catholic Church, Freeland or Sisters of St. Clare.
