Obituary of Carolyn Elizabeth Arcangeli

Passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 81 years old. Carolyn Elizabeth "Liz" Nixon was born on October 8, 1938 in Port Credit, Ontario, Canada to the late Wesley and Carolyn (Troy) Nixon. She married Gerald "Jerry" G. Arcangeli on October 6, 1962 in Port Credit, Ontario, Canada. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2009. Liz attended Ryerson University, earning a bachelor degree. She was employed by H&R Block as a tax preparer, retiring after 22 years of service. Liz dedicated many years volunteering at the Saginaw Township Community Schools. She was an active member of the Saginaw Lawyers Wives Club and served as a Troop Leader for the Girl Scouts of America. Liz enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also liked entertaining and playing cards. But, what she loved most of all was spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are her son, Scott (Tonya) Arcangeli and their children Austin, Brandon, Kaitlyn, and Ryan of Bath Township, Ohio; daughter, Susan (John) Cowell of Rockford, Michigan and their son, Kevin of Portland, Oregon. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Following Liz's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service honoring Liz will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Michael Maturen will officiate. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
