Obituary of Linda L. Marr

Marr, Linda L. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Brian's House, Essexville. She was 76 years old. Linda Lou Funka was born on April 4, 1943 in Saginaw, MI to the late Paul and Daisy (Cole) Funka. She attended Saginaw High School and graduated in 1961. Linda went to work for Motor Finance Company, and then moved on to Michigan National Bank, Manufactures Bank, Bay City and then retiring from Chemical Bank as Vice-President Commercial Lending. Linda came out of retirement to work for Discover Merchant Services, where she was a territorial representative for over 15 years, retiring in 2006. Linda enjoyed golfing, traveling, Spirit Hockey and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Linda will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, generosity and fun loving spirit. She is survived by her son, David W. (Toni) Marr; grandchildren: Elizabeth Marr and Victor Marr; sister, Mary Burk; and several nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her siblings: Doris Timm, Paul Funka, Jr. and Annie Cronkright; and former husband, William J. Marr. SERVICE: In keeping with Linda's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Rev. Mark Karls will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Brian's House or the Saginaw Spirit Charitable Foundation.
