Obituary of Elaine Marie Dole

Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Edgewood Assisted Living, Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 93. She was proud of her heritage as a third generation Texan and was born in San Antonio, Texas. Her paternal grandparents Jerome and Mary (Umscheidt) Arnold immigrated from Alsace Lorraine, France. Her maternal grandparents Henry and Emma Mueller immigrated from Braunfels, Germany. Elaine Arnold was born on March 10, 1926 the only daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (Moeller) Arnold and was raised in San Antonio, Texas. Elaine was united in marriage to Leo J. Dole on December 28th 1946 at St. Gerard's Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas; he preceded her in death on March 12, 2004. Elaine was a member of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She had been employed by St. Luke's Hospital as Business Office Manager; retiring in 1986 after 22 years of service. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling and especially enjoyed her trips to Texas in their motor home. She will be remembered as a loving, gracious and kind lady.
Elaine is survived by her children, Jeanne (Gerald) Fraser of McHenry, Illinois and Suzanne Dole of Saginaw; a granddaughter, Sarah (Vincent) Farrand; two great-granddaughters, Zoe Elizabeth and Lily Suzanne Farrand; several nieces and nephews and one cousin.
Besides her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by three brothers and their wives, Edward (Thelma) Arnold, Herbert (Barbara) Arnold and Leroy (Virginia) Arnold; two nieces, Sandra and Kathy Gail Arnold and a nephew, Herbert Jr, "Bubba" Arnold
FUNERAL: A Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Dominic Parish-SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Chapel, 4735 W. Michigan Ave. Private entombment to follow in St. Andrew Mausoleum. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit to officiate.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather Friday, January 3, 2020 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Vigil Service will take place Friday evening at 7:00 PM.
MEMORIALS: Those planning a memorial contribution are asked to consider Covenant Healthcare NICU or St. Dominic Parish-SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
