Obituary of Joyce Jeanette Fournier

Fournier, Joyce Jeanette Saginaw, Michigan Loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at her residence. She was 90 years old. Joyce Jeanette Haddix was born June 30, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late Thane and Beatrice (Taylor) Haddix. She married Ernest Fournier Jr. on October 30, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, MI. They shared 70 loving years together. Ernest preceded her in death on April 7, 2019. She retired from Sears after many years of service. Joyce was a faithful and active member of The Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption for many years. She enjoyed working at the neighborhood breakfast that was put on by the Cathedral every month. She loved spending time at her cottage on Dickerson Lake. Joyce also enjoyed attending all of her children and grandchildren's sporting events. But, what she really loved most was spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are her children: Steve (Susan) Fournier, Michael (Cheryl) Fournier, Cynthia Wedding, Kim Fournier and Marcia (Paul) Kleinebreil; nine grandchildren, Chad (Rachel) Fournier, Kimberly (Whit) Magro, Julie (Jeremy) Coiner, Dixie (Anthony) Schexnaildre, Kristi Wedding, Frederick II (Angela) Wedding, Matthew (Sarah) Kleinebreil, Timothy (Anna) Kleinebreil and Kim Fournier Jr.; 15 great grandchildren, Ella, Izzy, Eli, Mya, Shaunie (Nate), Baylie, Ariana, Pablo, Freddy III, Addison, Sophia, Ava, Aloysia, Edison and Jolie; brother, Donald (Shirley) Haddix; sister, Lucille Locke, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Mark Fournier; grandson, Brandon Fournier; son-in-law, Fred Wedding; and a great grandson, James Wedding; two sisters, Barbara Miller and her twin sister Joan Schlieger. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Joyce will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave., Saginaw MI 48607. Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski, Rector will officiate. In keeping with Joyce's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral Mass. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A vigil service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m at the funeral home lead by Sr. Yvonne Mary Loucks, RSM. Visitation will continue at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Mary's Cathedral Christian Service.
