Obituary of Epimenia S. Trevino

TREVINO, Epimenia of Montrose, MI passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper with her family by her side. She was 84 years old. Epimenia Santoya was born on March 24, 1928 to the late Patricio and Juana (Cantu) Santoya. She married Lauro H. Trevino, Jr. on July 14, 1951 in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2000. Epimenia was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She worked for Vlasic Food Products with over 25 years of dedicated service. Epimenia loved working in her yard and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her four children: Yolanda (Peter) Olgine, Lauro (Amalia) Trevino III, Ruben Trevino and Raul (Juanita) Trevino; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Ruiz and Jesusa Hernandez; a special cousin, Aldolfo Santoya. Also surviving are many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Epimenia was preceded in death by her sister, Josefa Santoya. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Epimenia will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St. Rev. Fr. William R. Taylor will officiate. Rite of committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, August 24, 2012, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, led by Pastoral Associate, Sharon Wahl. Epimenia will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to St. Stephen Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Association.
