Obituary of Carolyn A. Everett

EVERETT, Carolyn A. of New Port Richey, Florida, and Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2012 at Gulfside Regional Hospice in Hudson, FL. She was 86 years old. Carolyn A. Haar was born on July 12, 1926 to the late Henry and Nadalia "Tillie" (Balzer) Haar. She married John Hudson Everett on April 4, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1991. Carolyn was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Saginaw, Michigan. She was a Past Grand Matron of Michigan Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Matron of Martha Washington #113. Carolyn was also a member of the Germania Town and Country Club and the Daughters of the Nile Makere Temple #99. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Gulfside Regional Hospice - Bayonet Point, Florida. Carolyn is survived by her children: Tim Everett of Port Richey, FL, Cheryl (Bob) Bushey of Saginaw, Craig (Jill) Everett of Saginaw, and Steven (Tina) Everett of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Brandon Spear, Amy (Nate) Brookman, Steven Everett, Tricia Everett and Chris Carolan; two great grandchildren: Kylie and Arielle Spear; two sisters: Esther Sparling and Sharon (Bob) Ruppel; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Smith. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Haar, two sisters: Esther Haar and Mabel Pomeraning. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Carolyn will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway St., Saginaw MI 48602. Pastor Kathleen Basner will officiate with entombment to follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. The Past Grand Matrons and the Past Grand Patrons of the Grand Chapter of Michigan Order of the Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Carolyn will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Grand Chapter of Michigan Estarl Fund or Resurrection Lutheran Church.
