Obituary of Esther E. Shelson

SHELSON, Esther E. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. Age 82 years. Esther Emma Nagy was born on April 23, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Louis and Eva (Godo) Nagy. She married John Totten Shelson on December 9, 1950 in Birch Run, Michigan. He predeceased her on August 13, 1963. Esther worked as a Messenger Service Supervisor at the former Saginaw General Hospital and as a secretary at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Esther was an excellent seamstress, she loved knitting and crocheting, and was very devoted to her loving pets. Surviving are six children, Lynda Shelson, Marilyn (Marshall) Longtain, Nancy Bergeron, John Shelson, Patricia Shelson, and James (Sandra) Shelson; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Jeremy, Kathleen, John, Holly, Britten, Carlisle, and Tucker. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren. Esther was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Louis Nagy. FUNERAL- Esther's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Esther's family at the Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service.
