ILLIKMAN, John Arthur of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully at age 80 on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 surrounded by his family. John was born on February 22, 1931 to the late Albert A. and Emelia E. (Mueller) Illikman. He attended Saginaw High School and graduated in 1950. John married Anna M. Binasio on February 7, 1959 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Saginaw. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2011. John was a long time member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He retired from Baker Perkins after many years as a bakery equipment designer. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children: John T. (Sharon) Illikman, New Ulm, Minnesota, Mary Ann (David) Cole, Kawkawlin, Susan (Michael) Stuart, Bridgeport, and James (Susan) Illikman, Commerce Township; grandchildren that will miss Grandpa John: Sarah Stuart, Andrew Illikman, Adam Stuart, Ruth Ann Illikman, Monica Illikman, Anna Cole, Christav (CJ) Illikman, Matthew Cole, Ryan Illikman, and Noah John Illikman, along with many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three brothers: Ronald R., Richard A. and Raymond G. His brothers, Albert A. Jr. and Robert L. predeceased him. John's family would like to thank the staff in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at St. Mary's Hospital. Their care and compassion are sincerely appreciated and will never be forgotten. FUNERAL: John's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, July 10, 2011 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. John will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the St. Mary's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program or St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
