Obituary of Hilda M. Meyette

MEYETTE, Hilda M. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City, Michigan. She was 102 years of age. Hilda Mary Sauve was born on June 15, 1910 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Peter and Georgina Sauve. Hilda married John W. Meyette in 1929. He predeceased her on May 9, 1990. Hilda and her husband, John, were founding members of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Hilda is survived by a son, John L. (Shirley) Meyette of Alden, MI.; 12 grandchildren, Helen, Ann, Patrick, Bridget, Molly, Christine, Pam, Tom, Teri, Jill, Jim, and Tim; several great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Hilda was preceded in death by a son, Thomas W. Meyette; two brothers and three sisters. FUNERAL- Hilda's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate with the burial at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Hilda's family at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State) on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place on Monday at 7:00 p.m. under the direction of Sharon Wahl. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of 10:00 a.m. Mass.
