KENNEDY, Lilian Bernice "Bea" of Saginaw, Michigan passed away at her residence on Saturday, August 13, 2011 and went to her new home in Heaven. She was 96 years old. Bea was born on June 8, 1915 in London, Canada and moved to the United States as a young child. She was married to her husband, William Kennedy, on October 31, 1936 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Saginaw, Michigan. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before William's passing in 2003. Bea was employed with William C. Wiechmann's Company for many years. She enjoyed interacting with the customers. She was a member of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption for most of her life in which she enjoyed volunteering her services at the school and the church. Bea was a member of the Altar Society, The League of Catholic Women, and various Mental Health organizations. She served as an inspiration to everyone who knew her, due to her profound love, heartfelt caring, compassion, and kindness; it gave her the trademarks of a true Christian. Bea is survived by a daughter, Margaret (Richard) Morrow of Treasure Island, FL; a son, William G. Kennedy of Saginaw, MI; a sister, Bella Parnis of Southeastern Michigan; three grandchildren: Cheryl (Brian) Stainforth of Frankenmuth, MI, Monica Fries and her friend, Gary Hammerbacher of Terre Haute, IN, and Todd (Laura) Morrow of Union, KY and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and a nephew. Bea is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Kennedy and a sister, Margaret Kavanagh in 2008. The Kennedy family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice and the staff at St. Francis Home, especially Kristyle (for taking care of "Beauty"), Candice, Susie, Angela and Chasity for their loving care over the last several years of Bea's life. FUNERAL- Bea's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt St. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION- Friends may visit with Bea's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bea will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass. MEMORIALS- In Lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Francis Home. Please feel free to share your thoughts and memories with Bea's family at the funeral home, the church or through www.deislerfuneralhome.com.
