Obituary of Felix Gallardo

GALLARDO, Felix Jr. "Gordo" of Bridgeport, MI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday September 6, 2011 at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital. He was 44 years old. Felix Gallardo Jr. was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1966 in Saginaw to the late Felix Sr. and Josephine (Rodarte) Gallardo. He was married to Susan M. Bloomfield on December 7, 1996 in Frankenmuth at St. Lorenz Church. She survives him. Felix was a 1984 graduate of Bridgeport Spaulding High School. He worked for El-Gallito Restaurant for his entire career. Felix was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the La Union Civica Mexicana. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Wings, Tigers and Lions. Felix loved spending time with his family and friends, being a master of his grill, airbrushing, cars, and playing with his dogs: Lola and Tazzy, and his cat, Dilana. Felix is survived by his loving wife, Susan; two sisters: Abigail (Greg) McLeod and Laurie (Erwin) Gonzales; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Harry and Marilyn Bloomfield; sisters-in-law: Pamela (Tom) Taylor and Linda Bloomfield; nieces and nephews: Javier, Jessica, Jacquelyn and Andrew Jr.; great nieces and great nephews: Javiercito, Eviana, Blake and Noah. Also surviving are a special cousin, Mika Blanco; and a special uncle, Lupe Blanco "Uncle Little"; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and many near and dear friends and customers. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy for Felix will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2011 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. John Mancini OSFS will officiate with burial to follow in St. Lorenz Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Felix will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass.
