Obituary of Gary C. Hollman DDS

HOLLMAN, Gary C. DDS, MS of Saginaw, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at his home. He was 66 years of age. Gary C. Hollman was born on April 14, 1945 in Saginaw to the late Clarence and Cornelia (Steward) Hollman. He was married to Melanie Hoganson on August 12, 1988. She survives him. Gary was a Pediatric Dentist. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1963. He attended Central Michigan University. Gary graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School, where he completed his Pediatric Dental Program. Gary also did research and taught at the University of Minnesota. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Gary was a member of many organizations including both the National and State Chapters of the Dental Association and the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is a past Delegate for the American Dental Association, past Trustee for Michigan Dental Association and past President of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (1995-1996). Gary is also a past member of the Saginaw Bay Yacht Club and Bay Harbor Yacht Club. Gary loved all types of music as well as playing his guitar. He enjoyed snow skiing and traveling but his true passion was sailing his boats "Token" and "Token II" Surviving are a loving step-son, T.C. McLeod; two sisters, Bonnie (Nathan) Rowell; Sandra (John) Orange; a Mother-in-law, Vera Hoganson; a brother-in-law, Phillip (Yvette) Hoganson. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Cornelia Hollman and a brother, Jeffrey Hollman. FUNERAL- Gary's Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 123 N. Michigan Ave. The Rev. Charles M. Stuart and The Rev. Daniel Cannon will co-officiate. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Gary's family on Thursday, October 20, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) and at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the Service. MEMORIALS- In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Saginaw Art Museum, Delta College or St. John's Episcopal Church.
