Obituary of Myron H. Craig

CRAIG, Myron H. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Luther Manor of Saginaw. He was 88 years old. Myron H. Craig was born on July 7, 1923 in Caro, Michigan, to the late John and Henrietta (Volz-Colby) Craig. He married Shirley Tuck on October 14, 1972; she survives him. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy's 7th Fleet. Myron worked as a truck driver for Saginaw Rock Products from 1949 until his retirement in 1985. He was a member and retiree of the Teamsters Local 486. Myron attended Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a member of VFW Post 1566. He loved hunting and fishing with his son. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his family and friends. Surviving besides his loving wife, Shirley, of 39 years; are three daughters and a son: Diana (James) May of New Jersey, Corinne (David) Miles of Idaho, Keith (Tammi) Craig of Michigan, Alyese (Patrick) McEvilly of California; eight grandchildren: Tamara, Jonathan, Aaron, Dustin, Nicholas, Megan, Cori and Nicole; four great grandchildren: Hannah, Eli, Kelly, and Kjristie; a sister, Beulah Glover of Michigan; two sisters-in-law, Joann Schmidt, Donna Chinevere and two brothers-in-law, Henry (Arlene) Tuck and Richard Feldotte. Also surviving are a special great niece, Becky Vasold as well as many special friends. Myron's family would like to extend a thank you to the entire staff of Luther Manor. He was preceded in death by his three brothers and five sisters: John Colby, Margaret Sawyer, George Colby, Fred Colby, Henrietta Morse, Katherine Terbush, Eva Acker and Jennie Thompson. FUNERAL: Myron's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Pastor Michael Hahn will officiate. Military Honors and burial will follow in Buena Vista Township Cemetery under the auspices of VFW post 1566. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church or Luther Manor of Saginaw.
