Obituary of Warren E. Preston

PRESTON, Warren E. of Saginaw, Michigan. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 at his home, with his family at his side. He was 84 years of age. Warren E. Preston was born on October 4, 1927 in Saginaw to the late Walter and Bernice (Preston) Pavalski. He was married to Jacqueline M. Warsin on August 4, 1955 in Angola, Indiana. She survives him. On December 9, 1945 Warren enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He proudly served his country until June 10, 1947. After returning home from his military service, Warren became a glazing contractor retiring in1987, after 42 years of service. He was a member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, a past member of American Legion Post 439. He liked woodworking, BINGO, pheasant hunting and fishing. As a young man he won several trophies as a skeet shooter. Warren was a devoted father and family man, he was selfless and honest and would make personal sacrifices to help others. Surviving besides his wife, Jacqueline are three sons and a daughter: Gregory (Karen) Preston of Bay City, Dana (the late Alan) Reis of New York, Rick (Diana) Preston of Saginaw, and Jeffrey (Karen) Preston of Saginaw; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one due in March. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister: Walter (Noreen) Preston, Lorraine (Herb) Schmidt, and Larry (Hilda) Preston. Warren was preceded in death by two brothers; Donald (Janet) Preston and Marlon (Elizabeth) Preston. FUNERAL- Warren's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4432 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Michael Hahn will officiate. Entombment and Military Honors, conduct under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859, will follow at Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Warren's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service. MEMORIALS- Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church.
