Obituary of Mary L. Smith

SMITH, Mary L. of Carrollton, MI passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Mary's of Michigan. She was 74 years old. Mary L. Trecy was born on October 15, 1937 in Blanchard, MI to the late Francis and Dorothy (Hoover) Trecy. She married Robert Steele on November 6, 1954. Mary then married James F. Smith on August 10, 1974 he preceded her in death on December 16, 1989. Mary worked for the Dow Corning Medical Products Plant in Hemlock for 22 years until her retirement in 1994. She loved to spend time with her family especially her daughters and grandchildren. Mary enjoyed sewing, making many items for her family over the years and attending craft shows. Mary is survived by her daughters and their spouses: Christine (James) Hart Jr., Cynthia (Alan) Talbot and Connie Steele; eight grandchildren: James (Mimi) Hart III, Jason (Shannon) Hart, Jared Hart, Alan (Nettie) Talbot II, Adam Talbot, Tracy Mary Talbot, Zackary Bader and Andrew Bader; two great grandchildren: Alyssa and Benjamin Talbot; two brothers and two sisters: Francis Trecy, Richard Trecy, Janet (Allen) Graham and Nancy (Jerry) Lott. A sister, Patricia Pascalenos preceded her in death. FUNERAL: Mary's funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Burial will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
