Obituary of Frances Regina Levi

LEVI, Frances Regina passed away peacefully into the loving arms of God, surrounded by family and loving caregivers, on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre. She was 89 years old. Frances McGrath was born January 10, 1922 in Saginaw to Joseph P. and Lillian E. (Cox) McGrath. She was married to Arthur C. Levi on November 23, 1946 at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1995. Frances was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church. She was employed by Jacobson Department Store in Saginaw for 25 years before her retirement in 1985. Frances enjoyed golfing with her husband at Maple Hill Golf Course where they were original members. She also loved to play cards with her girlfriends, especially poker, and for 30 years they would meet for a friendly game. Left to cherish Frances' memory is her son, James Levi; her daughter, Mary (Joel) Tessin; two sisters: Katherine Wagner and Vivian Weiss; brother-in-law, Virgil Levi and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, John Levi; and three brothers: Joseph McGrath, Gerry McGrath, and Kenneth McGrath. Frances' family would like to express their gratitude to the loving staff at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre for all of the hugs, laughter and joy they provided in the last year of her life. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State). Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate with cremation following the service and burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Frances' Funeral Service and again from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hoyt Resident Council or Saginaw County Humane Society.
