Obituary of Victoria Partida Guerrero

Guerrero, Victoria Partida Carrollton Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years old. Victoria was born September 28, 1924 in La Feria, Texas to the late Narciso and Eulogia (Guerra) Partida. She married Louis Guerrero in June of 1946. She was employed by Migrant Health Services as an assistant social worker for several years. Victoria was passionate about helping and supporting local migrant families. She was a faithful and active member of St. John Paul II Parish (St. Josaphat Catholic Church) for many years. Victoria was a member of the Hoyt Nursing Home Ladies Club including the Red Hat Society. She loved sewing and making clothing for her family. Victoria also enjoyed researching her family history through genealogy. But, what she really loved most was square dancing with her husband Louis. Surviving are her children, Ester Burns, Ida Diane (Ernest) Erskine, Patricia (Alan) Daly and Cathy (Jay) Yockey; five grandchildren, Jacqueline (Brett) Butler, Brooks Ehlert, Sara Ehlert, Chad (Carin) Daly, Noah (Hilary) Daly; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson; brother, Oscar Cabellero; special cousin, Elva Bustemante and many nieces and nephews. Victoria was preceded in death by her husband, Louis and her brother, Pedro Partida. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Saint John Paul II Parish (St. Josaphat Catholic Church), 469 Shattuck Saginaw, MI 48604. Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico will officiate. Rite of Committal to follow at St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The rosary will be recited Friday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hoyt Nursing Home and Rehab Centre.
