Obituary of Charles Michael Teenier

Teenier, Charles Michael "Chuck" Sr.

Our loving father, grandfather, brother and dear friend passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He was 74 years old. Charles Michael Teenier was born on November 5, 1944 in Saginaw to the late Charles A. and Roberta L. (Klein) Teenier. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1962. Chuck then proudly served his country with the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, receiving several honors. He married Barbara Jean Glave on September 6, 1966. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2009. Chuck taught HVAC for the Saginaw Public School District at Saginaw Career Complex, Arthur Hill High School and North Middle School for over 30 years. Following retirement he created and taught the Heating and Air Conditioning Program at Delta College for several years. Chuck was an active member of the American Legion, V.F.W. Post #1566, C.M.S., The American Refrigeration Institute, and past president of the Refrigeration Engineering Society. Chuck loved to hunt, fish, garden and found peace spending time at his tree farm in Evart, MI.
Chuck was a dedicated father, teacher and provider to his children: Stephanie Teenier-Purcell, Charles Michael (Heather) Teenier II and Laura (Ken) Liebrecht; grandchildren: Tyler Teenier, Haley Teenier, Zack Wojahn, Heather Young and Amber Liebrecht; great grandchildren: Pantera, Lacey and Liam; siblings: Sue (Jim) Lisee, Mary (Dean) Munger, Richard Teenier, John (Karen) Teenier and Tom (Pamela) Teenier. He is also survived by his best friends, Tom Pierce and Gary Kocks, many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara; and sister, Roberta Rop.
FUNERAL: A funeral service for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1209 Hancock, Saginaw, MI 48602. Pastor Sue Hand will officiate. Burial and Military honors under the auspices of the United States Army and V.F.W. Post #1566 will be held at St. Andrew Mausoleum immediately following the funeral service.
VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) Saginaw, MI 48603 on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will then continue at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the American Legion Auxiliary Post 439 (VA & R Gift Shop), to buy presents for hospitalized veterans at the Aleda E.
