Obituary of Kimberly Ann Cappo

CAPPO, Kimberly Ann (Gatza) of Blacklick, Ohio, formerly of Bay City, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was 36 years old. Kimberly Ann Gatza was born on May 17, 1975 in Bay City to Thomas Gatza and Lori Grierson. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Eugene Cappo, whom she married on September 17, 2007 in Rome, Italy. Kimberly was a proud graduate of Bay City Central High School, class of 1993. She was a former downtown Bay City business owner. Above all, Kimberly was a devoted wife and mother; who treasured and lived for her children. Kimberly was also devoted to caring for her dogs and cats and was also a near, dear and loyal friend to many. Surviving are her loving husband, Dennis; three beloved children: Hannah Rose Richards, Jaxon Jon-Robert Cappo, and Izabella Caprice Cappo; her mother, Lori; father, Thomas (Brenda); grandmother, Phyllis Grierson; aunts and uncles: Cindy (Michael) Terrell, Sandy (Jim) Schrems, Mary (Rich) Moskal, Anthony Grierson, Rick Gatza, and Jan (Mitchell) Hages; cousins: Amanda and Angela Furtaw, Joe, Sophia, and Annie Moskal, and Kristina Mammel; a stepsister, Jodi Holnagel and a stepbrother, Brian Bottke. She also leaves behind beloved in-laws, Joseph (Dianne) Cappo; sister-in-law: Angela Smalarz; two brothers-in-law: Joseph (Bob Olivarez) Cappo Jr. and Michael (Sarah Ullman) Cappo; and her nephews: Nicholas, Noah, Riley Smalarz and Andy Olivarez. Kimberly was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert Grierson; grandparents, Stanley and Florence Gatza; her stepsister Tracy Bottke; and her brother-in-law, John Smalarz. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1525 S. Washington Ave. Rev. Fr. Daniel E. Roa and Deacon Roger Pasionek will co-officiate. Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Kimberly's family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Monday, January 16, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service honoring Kimberly will take place at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening. She will lie in repose at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Kimberly's children, whom she loved and cherished.
