Obituary of Shirley M. Cronk

CRONK, Shirley M. of Spaulding Township, Michigan passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare. She was 84 years of age. Shirley Marie Marks was born on May 2, 1927 in Buchanan, Michigan to the late George and Mazie (Kocher) Marks. She was married to Raymond "Bud" Cronk on May 13, 1950 in Saginaw. He survives her.
Shirley was a very devoted member of Saginaw Valley United Pentecostal Church and served as their treasurer for 41 years and headed the Ladies Auxiliary. She had been employed as a manager by various credit unions before retiring from Universal Credit Union in Frankenmuth. Shirley loved to spend time with her family, traveling with her husband and grandchildren to places like Nashville and Branson, and proudly supporting them in school and sporting activities. She enjoyed collecting antiques and refinished many items, turning them into treasures. Shirley also enjoyed puzzles and was a master at crosswords and Sudoku.
Left to cherish Shirley's memory are her husband of 61 years, Raymond "Bud" Cronk; two sons: Raymond F. (RaeAnn) Cronk Jr., Steve G. (Julie) Cronk; four grandchildren: Raymond F. Cronk III, Randall J. (Candice) Cronk, Megan (Mark) Carey, Jessica Bromley; three great grandchildren: Max Sorba, Chance Cronk, Darien Bromley; and a sister, Janet (Charles) Gedraitis.
Shirley was preceded in death by four brothers: Edward, Walter, William and George Marks; two sisters: Velma and Pauline Marks.
FUNERAL: Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Saginaw Valley United Pentecostal Church, 6740 Dixie Hwy, Bridgeport. Pastor Kevin Leaman will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Shirley's funeral service.
