Obituary of Elsie D. Cornish

CORNISH, D. Elsie, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 97 years. Dorothy Elsie Needs was born on November 30, 1914 in Calumet, Michigan to the late Harry and Mae (Salmon) Needs. She was married to Russell Roy Cornish on June 18, 1937 in Calumet. He predeceased her on August 28, 1989. Elsie was a long time member of State Street United Methodist Church. Elsie is survived by two daughters: Dorothy Urich of Traverse City and Summerfield FL. and Sandra (Roger) Wight of Saginaw; six grandchildren: Debora Fournier, Daniel Urich, Jennifer Keil, Thomas Wight, Patricia Bry, and Rebecca Lipchik; 14 great-grandchildren whom she adored. Elsie was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Roger Urich; two sisters: Lenore Ford and Grace Brodhagen; and a great-grandson, Ryan Keil. FUNERAL: Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State St.) Pastor Elias Mumbiro will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Elsie's funeral service.
