Obituary of Joyce M. Darling

DARLING, Joyce M. of Carrollton, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. She was 83 years old. Joyce M. Hillier was born on April 13, 1928 in Mt. Morris, to Perry and Ada Hillier. She married Rolland E. Darling on August 21, 1947 in Burt. Joyce was employed by Carrollton Public Schools in the cafeteria; retiring in 1989 after 15 years of service. She was an active member of Kochville United Methodist Church, including the United Methodist Women where she loved working on the Christmas cookie and apple pie sales, funeral luncheon committee, and volunteering at HealthSource. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Rolland E. Darling; four children: Rick P. (Karen) Darling, Dale W. (Maureen) Brown, Daniel L. (Cindy) Darling, and Janis M. Darling; 10 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers; many nieces and nephews and many close friends. She was preceded in death by two sons: Rolland E. Darling, Jr. and Jerry F. Darling; an infant daughter; one sister and one brother. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Following Joyce's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Kochville United Methodist Church, 6030 Bay Road. Rev. Susan Bennett Stiles will officiate. Burial will take place in Cook Cemetery, Burt at a later date.
