Obituary of Elaine A. Schrems

SCHREMS, Elaine A. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully and comfortably, surrounded by family and close friends, on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. Age 87 years. Elaine A. Swaney was born on June 25, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Willard and Agnes (Neumann) Swaney. She was married to Joseph R. Schrems on May 10, 1947 in Bay City. He predeceased her on January 17, 1986. Surviving are two sons and two daughters; Kenneth (Katina) Schrems, Joseph M. Schrems, Karen Paveglio and Nancy (Robert Feldhake) Grace; four grandchildren; Christopher, Joshua, Brian and Kevin; and five great-grandchildren; Christopher Jr. Alexie, Emily, Brice and Bradon; along with special friends; Kathy and Dave Thon. Elaine was preceded in death by a son, Gary Schrems and a son-in-law (her buddy), Pete Paveglio. Elaine will forever be remembered for her strength of will, independence and a sense of humor, which brought laughter even at the most difficult of times. She cared deeply for her family and enjoyed the many discussions and support of Kathy Thon, a close friend over the last several years. She will be missed for her personal strength and unflinching ability to meet life's many challenges. In accordance with Elaine's wishes a private family funeral service has taken place.
