KEENE, Glanis Mercedes, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 in her home. Born to the late Andrew and Glanis (Pierce) Wilson on May 8, 1925 in Freeland, Michigan, her life blessed many people over the 86 years she walked this earth. Preceded in death by her brother, Allen Wilson and sister, Mary Kay Delano. On June 22, 1946 the Lord gave her a wonderful husband, Mason O. Keene, who predeceased her on February 5, 1991. Mercedes faithfully served her community for many years as the Deputy Register of Deeds for Saginaw County. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are two daughters and two sons: William (Judy) Keene, Marleen (Thomas) Schraw, Brenda (Dennis) Quinn, and Kenneth (Judy) Keene; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and one on the way. Mercedes greatest passion was her faith; she is a long time member of the Hopevale Church and involved in many different Bible studies through the years. Being on two Bowling leagues for longer than 20 years brought joy and health. In service to others, she also volunteered at Hospice. Friends and family are welcome to join in the celebration of Mercedes' life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State).
