Obituary of Jerry L. Persons

PERSONS, Jerry Lee, age 72, of Saginaw, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his home with his family at his side. Born in Saginaw on October 23, 1939 he was the son of the late Clifford and Ruth (Howard) Persons. Jerry married Dona Nachtweih on March 28, 1959; she preceded him in death on June 20, 1988. On July 27, 1991, Jerry and Dorothy Burkhard were united in marriage in Saginaw; she survives him. Jerry was a self-employed businessman, owner of Area Pest Control for over 30 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club #497 for 36 years. Jerry also loved singing and was a member of the Barber Shop Quartet for a number of years. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke with his friends. Besides his passion for singing, Jerry was a gifted artist. He also enjoyed reading and traveling. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, of Saginaw; his children; Linda (Imre) Simon, Scott Persons, Brenda Mueller, and Sherie Menger; two stepsons: Rob (Jodi) Burkhard and James Burkhard; four grandchildren; Alana, Scottie, Josh, and Caleb; six great grandchildren; three brothers: Don (Darlene), Bob (Dani) and Jim Persons; one sister, Betty (Fred-deceased) Kehr; his faithful dog, Lexi. FUNERAL: Jerry's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Jack R. Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, March 25, 2012, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Service.
