Obituary of Rose S. Reyes

REYES, Rose S. of Saginaw, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 55 years old. Rose S. Chappins was born on July 12, 1956 in Saginaw to the late Lazaro and Gobita (Vela) Chappins. She married Ygnacio R. Reyes, Jr. on September 8, 1975 in Saginaw. Rose graduated from Saginaw High School, class of 1974. She loved and cherished her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Rose was raised and a member of the Catholic Faith. She loved taking trips to the Casino and playing Bingo. Rose is survived by her loving husband, Ygnacio; a son, Ssgt. Ygnacio Ray (Melissa) Reyes III of Okinawa, Japan; a daughter, Lilianna Angel Reyes and her boyfriend, Matthew Redmon; three grandchildren: Asia, Cassidy and Ygnacio IV Reyes; four sisters and two brothers: Linda (Martin) Flores, Julia (Larry) Perez, Joanne (Alfonso) Sada, Eva (Jose) Mireles, Lazaro Chappins Jr., Joseph (Jennifer) Chappins; two brothers-in-law, John Reyes and Mike (Nina) Reyes; three sisters-in-law: Deloris Ortega, Adelita (Roberto) Campos, Nadine (Patrick Falsetta) Reyes; a special friend, Sarah (Thomas) Huell and her beloved dog, Spencer; also surviving are many nieces, nephews and special friends. Rose was preceded in death by her brother, Jimmie Chappins; her mother-in-law and father-in-law: Olivia and Ygnacio Reyes. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy for Rose will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at St. George Catholic Church, 3121 Sheridan Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Daniel E. Roa will officiate. According to Rose's wishes cremation will follow the funeral Mass. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. A Vigil service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday and the Knights of Columbus Council #7233 will pray the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Rose will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
