My name is Amy Yoder-Glosser. I was very touched by the mention of my father Dr. Walter Yoder in the obituary. My father passed away several years ago. My brother Mark and I were babies in Saginaw back then. My mother Bonnie, still living in Albuquerque, remembers Dr and Pat Shek very fondly. They helped my parents so much when they were young. We send our most sincere condolences.

Jeannie and family: I am saddened to hear of the passing of your remarkable mother. My wonderful memories of her and especially the smell of her fabulous Gardenia perfume will live on with me forever. She always made me feel special when I was at your home growing up or at your lake house. She was sometimes our partner in crime hiding things from your father, I will never forget that! She held herself with the utmost grace and she brought joy to everyone whose life she touched. Your visit to San Antonio with her still is a special memory I will always cherish. Thank you all for sharing her with me for during my years in Saginaw. My prayers go out to you for the loss of such a glorious, kind and talented woman. Sending blessings. Hugs, Kathy S. Williams

Although I only had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Shek for the first time a little over a year ago, I will always remember her fondly as a vibrant, intelligent, and kind-hearted woman. Spending hours at length with Mrs. Shek interviewing her for her monumental contributions as a Saginaw community member and Theodore Roethke historian, I can say definitively that the reach and impact of her life will not be forgotten, and she will be dearly missed by all of us fortunate enough to have sat down for tea with her. My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Shek's loved ones.

I had the opportunity to meet Pat a few years ago through the Roethke Poetry and Arts Festival, and I was immediately struck by her quick wit, her passion for the arts, and her dedication to the Saginaw community. Like many of us, I am thankful for having the chance to know her.

I have been a board member of the Saginaw County Hall of Fame for almost thirty years and president for the last sixteen. Pat Shek was a board member for all of those years, attending regularly, contributing wisely in her low-voiced way. Even as her health status declined, she found a way to get to the meetings and make her usual apt suggestions. And reading her obituary, she surely was a valuable member of so many other boards. When the time comes, Pat will surely be nominated for inclusion into Saginaw County's Hall of Fame.

Friends of Theodore Roethke sends sympathy to Patricia Shek's family for their loss. I feel fortunate to have known her. A few summers ago the SVSU Scholar, Brendan Rushton, and I stopped to hear her early Roethke stories and drink her family bottled wine. She was the grande dame of all things Roethke in Saginaw. How fortunate that Patricia and her husband began the first foundation in his name and brought so many poets connected to Roethke to Saginaw. Such a service to his community!
Annie Ransford, Roethke House, president.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of Mrs. Shek's passing. I had the pleasure of working with her over the years on many of her activities, including one of her passions, the Theodore Roethke Memorial Foundation Poetry Prize. My thoughts are prayers are with the Shek family. Joan Cramer

I will keep the whole Shek family in my prayers. Sorry for your loss, I'm sure she was the light of doctor Shek's life. The "Rosas" family held in high esteem doctor Shek. My mother Maria Rosas felt Dr Shek could do no wrong. My brother Carlos enjoyed working for Peter Shek. I appreciated getting to know Genie, such a sweet person. My name is Sylvia Martinez
