Fritz, Dorothy I. "Dotty" Swan Creek Twp., Michigan Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was 83 years old. Dorothy Irene Tucker was born on December 31, 1935 in Copley Twp., Illinois to the late George F. and Helen L. (Scott) Tucker. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1953 and then enlisted with the United States Air Force. Dotty proudly served during the Korean War and while stationed at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, New York she met the love of her life, John G. Fritz. Upon her honorable discharge Dotty and John were married in Indiana on May 3, 1956. They settled in Saginaw and together raised their family. Dotty then worked for Saginaw County District Court for over 20 years, retiring in 1997. In Dotty's free time she loved to spend time with her family, craft and paint. She is survived by her husband of 62 years: John G. Fritz; her children: Kathy Forsythe, John M. (Joni) Fritz, Cindy (Jon) Miller, Kurt Fritz and Matthew (Stacy) Fritz; grandchildren: Jason Helpap, Brian (Anna) Helpap, Jennifer (Rob) Dawson, Andrew Forsythe, Tara (Brent) Wallace, Ashley Fritz, Justin (Mindy) Miller, Jessica Miller, Autumn Fritz and Evan Fritz; four great grandchildren: Imogene Dawson, Elliot Dawson, Lydia Helpap and Luke Miller; brothers: Curt (Diane) Tucker and Charlie (Cheryl) Tucker; and her sister, Brenda (Larry) Beller. Dotty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nancy Ferguson; and her brother, J. Scott Tucker. FUNERAL: A funeral service for Dorothy will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Dr. William Morris will officiate. Burial and Military Honors will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of U.S. Air Force. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center or St. Peter Lutheran Church.
