I was privileged to meet Dr. Molter in the mid-70s when I was a student at Delta College. She inspired me at a time when I needed inspiring. Her energy was infectious! She published a class poetry book when it wasn't easy to do that kind of thing. It was gratifying to see my name in print! I ended up signing up for another class from her and enjoyed her insights and world view. She opened up new horizons for me. She always pushed me to do my best.I went on to graduate from Central Michigan University and have recently completed my 34th year of teaching in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Molter was a role model and I think of her often. She was, in part, responsible for my successful career. Thank you, Dr. Molter.

She was one of my early instructors! She encouraged, along with Paulene Drumm to pursue my degree in Journalism! When I returned to Delta, she was always by my side when I took on issues with the administration on student rights with the Student Liaison Committee! One "Grand Lady" of the long forgotten "Delta Difference"!

I had great admiration for Letty. Her teaching of those who were incarcerated went beyond our Delta responsibilities. She was an AAUP member, a great believer in shared governance and a respected friend.

I worked with Letty for a brief time at the end of her career. I was a new faculty member in English and remember her encouragement to be involved in professional development activities and to take a leadership role. I was thankful for her advice.

Letty Molter was the definition of a human dynamo. She inspired everyone around her and challenged students and fellow faculty to do the impossible — to match her enthusiasm and energy. Her contributions to Delta and its English Division are innumerable. I was so proud to call Letty my colleague and friend. Deepest condolences to her family. Letty was amazing.

Letty Molter is truly one of Delta's legends. I first met her as a recent faculty member in the Social Science division and worked closely with her in the design and implementation of Delta's Professional Development Committee. This concept was a notable innovation at the time, and was an exciting idea to plant and nurture at Delta. The current office of Organizational Development has grown from this very seed which was planted and nurtured by Letty. I was one of three Delta faculty who were sponsored to attend "Leaders for the 80's" sponsored by the AACJC in 1980 in Phoenix, Arizona - I attended this weeklong workshop with Letty Molter and Rebecca Wieland, and each of us developed a project oriented to change in the college environment. Letty was indeed a
dynamo and an innovator, and Delta owes much of our development and curricula innovations to her intellect, creativity and energy. Indeed a significant contributor to Delta's history has passed. Letty Molter was a gift to the college culture. Her dedication to effective teaching and student learning was part of her character. I learned much from her and I remember her with sincere admiration.

Letty was my friend, colleague and mentor at Delta from the time I started teaching there in the English Division in 1976, and we continued our close friendship after she retired. We were often roommates and traveling companions while attending annual professional conferences over the years. Letty was a brilliant thinker and a widely read, innovative teacher who was much loved and respected by her students and colleagues alike. In addition to her full time teaching duties, Letty chaired and served on numerous Delta College committees as well as leading community organizations. I will never forget Letty and the wonderful, inspiring model she was for me. Rest In Peace, my friend.

I enjoyed working with Dr. Molter in her effort to create a Japanese evening at the Saginaw YWCA. Through her I was able to meet many of the Japanese people in our community. But then in the summer of 1981 I was very happy to spend three weeks with her family in Manila. By having a "home stay" with her family I was able to learn a lot about the Philippines. Her sister there in Manila was every bit as active in the community as Dr. Molter was here. I always appreciated that experience very much.

Letty was an amazing teacher who went way beyond the required of, or the usual of a faculty member. She was also a good friend --not only of myself but to many, many students and colleagues. She was missed at Delta the minute she left her responsibilities there.
