Obituary of Jacqueline Ann Blackney

Blackney, Jacqueline Ann Saginaw, Michigan Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Wescourt. She was 89 years old. Jacqueline Ann Maier was born April 17, 1929 in Saginaw, MI to the late Edgar and Anna (Wiese) Maier. She married John H. Blackney August 24, 1948, he preceded her in death on March 31, 1985. Jacqueline worked as a secretary for the Saginaw Township School District, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a faithful member of St. John Episcopal Church where she was very active in church events. Jacqueline enjoyed traveling and loved to spend time gardening. Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Ann Johnson; daughter in-law, Kerrie Blackney; grandchildren: Erin Michele Johnson, Mark Johnson and Erin Ann (Todd) Shappee; great-granddaughter, Madelyn Shappee; and special friend, John Taylor. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her son, J. Thomas Blackney and two brothers: Gerald and Edgar Maier. According to Jacqueline's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private entombment will be at Oakwood Mausoleum next to Jacqueline's husband, John.
