Loiacano, Sam J., of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on September 7, 2018 at Samaritas Senior Living of Saginaw. He was 89. Sam Jerome Loiacano was born on August 13, 1929 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Vito and Anna (Parisi) Loiacano. He married Marjorie Duanne Murphy on June 2, 1951; she survives him. Sam joined the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge, he started his produce career with his two brothers, Saginaw Fruit, but then Sam and his brother, Phillip, branched off into Loiacano Fruit. Due to an accident, he then would finish off his career with Garber Pontiac Cadillac first, but ended with Hickey Oldsmobile as a car salesman, until his retirement in 1984. After his retirement, he spent a great deal of effort and time feeding the poor and helping those who were less fortunate. Sam and Marge have been long-time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Previously, they were members of St. Helen's Catholic Church and the family enjoyed helping with the spaghetti dinners. In his younger years, Sam enjoyed outdoor recreational sports such as snowmobiles, motorcycles, and dune buggies, as well as ice skating and swimming. Surviving are his beloved wife of 67 years, Marjorie; two daughters: Ann Loiacano and Jane (Keith) Grantham; five grandchildren: David (Megan) Loiacano, Keith (Katie) Grantham II, Kent Grantham, Katrina (John) Masters, and Kellyn (Steve) Creel; three great-grandchildren: Keith Grantham III, Avery Masters, and Holden Loiacano; sister-in-law, Doris (Phillip, deceased) Loiacano; and nieces, nephews, and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Loiacano; one infant daughter, Mary Margaret Loiacano; four sisters; and three brothers.
