Obituary of Margaret Helen Spruce

Spruce, Margaret H. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her home, with her daughter by her side. She was 91 years old. Margaret Helen Mason was born on March 27, 1927 in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada to the late John and Emily (Sayers) Mason. She married Leonard Sherwood Spruce on September 3, 1948; he preceded her in death on March 7, 2010. Before marriage and children, she enjoyed working at the knitting mill in Canada. Then, due to Leonard's job at the C&O Railroad, he and Margaret moved their family to Michigan. In her spare time, she enjoyed word searches and dancing. Margaret will be remembered for being a sweet and loving lady. Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters: Deborah (Bill) Kingston of Wasaga Beach, Ontario and Jennifer Spruce of Saginaw, Michigan; three grandchildren: Brian Kingston, Craig Kingston, and Kara (Eric) Staffen; seven great-grandchildren: two sisters: Doreen (Harry) O'Connell and Marie (Clifford) Chaplow; and three special friends, Leslie Applebee, Elizabeth Williams, and Debra "Dolly" Baumgartner. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Leonard; great-grandson, Ryland Stafford; one brother, Thomas Mason; and two sisters: Julia Cunningham and Katherine Reiley. Per Marg's request, cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
