Obituary of Cecile McDonnell

McDonnell, Cecile of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully at her daughter's home with her family by her side on Monday, July 16, 2018. She was 96 years old. Cecile McDonnell nèe Titley was born February 1922 in Chute-à-Blondeau, Canada to the late John B. and Armandine Titley. She married the love of her life, Edward McDonnell, on August 10, 1948 in Ontario, Canada; he preceded her in death on May 4, 2010.
Cecile was a faithful woman, reliant on her Lord and filled with the Holy Spirit. Her calming, graceful, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren. Cecile was known for her extraordinary cooking, and loved to keep her mind active by completing jigsaw puzzles and word searches.
Surviving are three daughters: Michele (Larry) Lamie of Saginaw, Gail (Jim) Mooney of Vaplaraiso, Indiana, and Linda Brisbin of Salisbury, North Carolina; seven grandchildren: Bryan (Chelsea) Thompson and Mark Thompson, Jamie (Jon Steinberg) Mooney, Shane (Katie) Mooney and Jordan (Dan) Miller, Noah and Ivy Brisbin; great grandchildren: Rita Cecile Steinberg, Minnie Mooney, and great granddaughter Miller expected July 23, 2018 and great grandchild Baby Thompson expected in November 2018; sister, Marguerite McDonnell from Saginaw; sisters-in-law, Jacqueline, Muriel and Louise Titley, and Lucie Gravel, Sr. Irene, Mary Jane, and Betty McDonnell; brother-in-law, Michael (Alice) McDonnell; also many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward; siblings: Lucien Titley, Theresa Seguin, Marcel, Gerard, Fernand and Daniel Titley.
FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. Dominic Parish, St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Andrew Cemetery.
VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit the family at the church on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m.
MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Dominic Food Pantry at St. Peter and Paul or Father Cedric Ministries, 430 Bunker Hill Road, Houston, TX 77024. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State).
