Obituary of Joel Quentin Conrad

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Bartonwoods Assisted Living. He was 68 years old. Joel Quentin Conrad was born on April 6, 1950 in Saginaw, to the late Jack and Verna (Schultz) Conrad. Joel graduated from Bridgeport High School with the Class of 1968. His career would take him into building supplies sales for many years. Joel was a faithful Jehovah's Witness member. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, fishing, listening to music, old cars, and being outdoors in the orchard. He loved nothing more than being with his children and grandchildren. Joel leaves to cherish his memory, a son and a daughter: Matthew (Jenny) Conrad and Alison Valasek; three grandchildren: Brenden Conrad, Kennedy Conrad, and Maggie Valasek; one brother and two sisters: Kent (Lynn) Conrad of Livingston, KY, Carrie (John) Ferrara of Versailles, KY, and Jan (Gary) Skiba of Frankton, IN; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Compassus Hospice and Bartonwoods Assisted Living for the loving care given to Joel over the years. VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to gather at the Deisler Funeral Home (2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family, c/o Alison Valasek.
