Obituary of Matthew Patrick Dorr

DORR, Matthew Patrick, of Hemlock, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 16, 2012, at his home. He was 28 years old. Matthew Patrick Dorr was born on May 6, 1983 in Saginaw, Michigan to Patrick J. and Linda K. (Wilsey) Dorr. He married the love of his life, Robin Murray, on February 12, 2011 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hemlock; she survives him. Matt was a 2002 graduate of Hemlock High School and a proud 2006 graduate of Northwood University and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon. He was employed in the family business, Dorr Trucking Co. and co-owner of The Water Boys. Matt was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hemlock. In his spare time, Matt loved working meticulously in his yard. Surviving besides his wife, Robin, and parents, Patrick and Linda, a step-daughter and step-son, Aly and Nathan Fuller; sister, Jill Dorr of Chicago, IL; grandparents: Barbara Dorr and Kenneth and Helen Wilsey; mother-in-law, Sharon Louise Murray of Saginaw; four sisters-in-law: Deborah (Michael) Sander of Hemlock, Joy (Michael) Burdo of Hemlock, Tammy Murray-Herber of Grand Haven, Sherry Murray of Saginaw; brother-in-law, Robert (Brenda) Murray, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; Also surviving are many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many close neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his best buddy and grandfather, Raymond Dorr, father-in-law, Robert Alan Murray, Sr. and an uncle Joe Dorr. FUNERAL: Matthew's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 151 Saint Marys Drive, Hemlock. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Hemlock. . VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hemlock on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. A Vigil Service will take place Thursday evening at the church at 7:00 p.m. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society, St. Mary Catholic Church, the Children's Discretionary Fund c/o Robin Dorr or a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
