Obituary of Donald W. Snyder

SNYDER, Don W. (Whip), Saginaw Township, Michigan, beloved father and grandfather died suddenly Thursday evening, April 19, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, age 77 years. Don Winston Snyder was born on August 5, 1934 in Asheville, North Carolina to the late George and Maggie Snyder. He married Janice R. Reid on June 26, 1954. She predeceased him in 2008. Mr. Snyder was employed with Joshen Paper and SupplyPro Companies up until the time of his death. Surviving are his four daughters: Kim Snyder Anderson (Tom), Cathy Snyder (Mike Armstrong), Lori Snyder, and Lisa Hart (Patrick). Also surviving are five grandchildren: Brianne Kennedy, Adam Heinrich, Jourden Vlassis (Bill), Chelsea Horvath, and Kathleen Hart; three great-grandchildren; a nephew, Gary Cauble; an aunt; and three cousins. Don is also survived by two very dear friends, whom he considered a part of his family, Richard Gordon and Brandon Bordeaux. Don will be greatly missed by his best friend Butchie. Don was predeceased by two granddaughters: Kate Lauren Heinrich and Whitney Snyder Armstrong; a brother, Theodore; and a sister, Jean. Graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, 950 North Center Road, in the Garden of Victory section near the Mausoleum. Friends may meet with the family for visitation at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made in Mr. Snyder's memory to the Saginaw County Humane Society or to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
