Obituary of Lawrence C. Dupuis

DUPUIS, Lawrence C. "Larry" of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Covenant Healthcare - Cooper. He was 86 years old. Lawrence C. Dupuis was born on August 13, 1925 in Saginaw to the late Meddie L. and Gladys (Jolin) Dupuis. He married Rosemarie D. Menard on October 4, 1952 in Saginaw. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2002. Larry was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He proudly served in the Coast Guard during WWII. Larry was also a member of Knight of Columbus Council 593 and had served as Grand Knight. He enjoyed participating in the Tootsie Roll Drive and the 50/50 with the K of C. Larry is survived by his three sons: Joseph (Gail) Dupuis of Freeland, David (Kim) Dupuis of Nevada and Mark Dupuis of Saginaw; one daughter, Julie McIntyre of Saginaw; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Sperry; one brother, Lee Jolin; and one sister-in-law, Marlene Menard. His wife, a daughter, Mary Dupuis-Mattsen, and a great grandson, Jacob Adam Santoya, preceded Larry in death. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. David L. Parsch will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd., (off State) on Sunday, April 22, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will be held on Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Larry will lie in state at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
