GUERIN, Gary Allen passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan. Age 71 years. Gary was born on July 3, 1940 in Saginaw. He enlisted in the United States Navy in July of 1958. While stationed in Hawaii he met and married Susan Maule of Pasadena, CA on September 15, 1962. Gary and Susan were blessed with two sons Richard (deceased) and Robert. Gary left the Navy after nearly ten years at the rank of Missile Tech 2nd Class Petty Officer. He later settled in Sierra Madre, CA with his family. He had been employed by Abbott Pharmaceutical Co. and transferred to Fort Worth, TX. He later married Pamela Liberto on Nov. 21, 1980 in Dallas, TX. He was very active in volunteer work and the Salvation Army in both California and Texas. After 26 years with Abbott he retired and moved back to Saginaw. He resided at Westcourt Retirement, where he enjoyed many friends and activities. An avid reader, he was known to read two or three books at one time and still participate in many activities at Westcourt; calling bingo, singing between numbers, playing cards and was known to dress up as everything from the Easter Bunny to a hula girl, during parties. He never said no to a request made of him. Gary also enjoyed the friends he made through the internet and corresponding with old friends. He watched his tomatoes grow each summer on his small patio. Gary is survived by his son; Robert (Mia) Guerin of Elk Grove, CA; two brothers and three sisters: Donald "Buzz" Guerin of Saginaw, Edward Guerin of Carrollton, Carol (Leonard) Boensch of Saginaw, Susan Kern of Frankenmuth and Marijo (Ross) Colon of Lake City, MI. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
