Obituary of Michael F. Kusowski

KUSOWSKI, Michael F. of Saginaw, Michigan, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Age 79 years. Mike was born on August 27, 1932 in Saginaw the son of the late Michael F. and Irene J. (Skelcey) Kusowski. He was married to Evelyn J. Powada on May 3, 1958 at St. Casimir Catholic Church; she survives him. Mike proudly served with the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in Germany. He then worked at Saginaw Steering Gear, Plant 4, until his retirement in 1990. Mike was a faithful member of St. Helen Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling, making puzzles, and doing Sudoku. Left to cherish his memory besides his wife, Evelyn, is his daughter, Christine Kusowski Riney, and her children, Kendal and Luke Riney; his son, Michael (Jeri) Kusowski, and their family, Jeremy (Wendy) Shephard and their children: Kayden and Josie Shephard; Stacy (Kyle) Clapp and their children: Sidney and Braxton Clapp; six siblings: Gene (Ella Mae) Kusowski, Fedalis Vincke, Bill (Bonnie) Kusowski, Dorothy Graham, Monica (Ken) Kubiak, Joe (Carolyn) Kusowski; two brothers-in-law: Jerry (Ruth Ann) Powada and Harold Davis; his sister-in-law, Helen Powada; and treasured neighbors and friends: Amy, Joe, Pam, and Joey Chmielewski. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Harry Vincke, Bud Graham, Dolly Davis, Tootsie (Roy) Clements, Ed Powada, and Sonny (Beth) Powada. FUNERAL: A private funeral service will take place at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859.
