Obituary of Marvin Gerald Sparschu

SPARSCHU, Marvin Gerald, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 71 years of age. Marvin G. Sparschu was born on April 1, 1941 in Saginaw to the late Rudolph and Anna (Hrinik) Sparschu. He was married to Sandra Kay Sepos on January 20, 1968; she survives him. Marv had proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard and had recently enlisted in the Michigan Volunteer Defense Force. He was employed by Brettragers Manufacturing before retiring from Delphi in 2002 after 23 years of service. Marv was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. He will be remembered as a master handyman. Marv spent his winters in New Port Richey, FL., his summers at Higgins Lake fishing, playing golf, and enjoying time with his family. Surviving besides his loving wife, Sandra, is his daughter, Kristine Call; his son, Brian (Angel) Sparschu; nine grandchildren; Adam, Lanny III, Cody, Nicholas, Alivia, Lucas, Joseph, Jackson, and Nathan; two brothers; Donald (Joyce) Sparschu and Gary (Debbie) Sparschu; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Marv's wishes cremation has taken place. FUNERAL- A Funeral Liturgy honoring Marvin will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St. Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Marv's family at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the Church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. MEMORIALS- In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider honoring Marv with memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church or Advantage Hospice.
