Obituary of Rebecca Vasquez

VASQUEZ, Rebecca of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at St. Mary's of Michigan surrounded by her family. Age 52 years. Rebecca Ortega was born on January 28, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas to Mariano and Tomasa (Rodriguez) Ortega. Rebecca loved spending time with her grandchildren, being outdoors and working on puzzles. Her most cherished time of year was Christmas. Left to cherish her memory are her partner of 27 years, Antonio R. Salcedo; her son and five daughters: David Vasquez, Adelina (Tony) Vasquez, Trinidad Vasquez, Dianna Salcedo, Angelica Salcedo, Tomasa (Ruben) Gonzales; 10 grandchildren: Kayila, Peanut, Sole, Moses, SaSa, Lijah, NeNe, Seo, Selamommas, Faustino; her mother, Tomasa Rodriquez; nine siblings: Mariano Ortega, Ricardo Ortega, Arturo Ortega, Raquel Espinoza, Maria (Lupe) Uribe, Yolanda Ortega, Tomasa Ortega, Frank Rodriguez, Vicente (Sonia) Rodriguez; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Vasquez; father, Mariano Ortega; stepfather, Frank Rodriguez; brothers-in-law, Frank Salcedo, Valentine Rico; sister-in-law, Josie Rico; and niece, Karina. FUNERAL: Funeral Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May19, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (off State). Rev. Fr. Joseph A. Schable will officiate with burial in Forestlawn Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
