SHARRER, Robert "Bob" R. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. He was 90 years of age. Robert Ross Sharrer was born on November 16, 1921 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Robert and Hazel (McDougall) Sharrer. He married Betty Jane Formaz on February 2, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. She survives him. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant during World War II. Bob owned and operated Nadene's Tot Shop in Detroit and three dry cleaners, two in Flint and one in Saginaw, Michigan. Bob later became a District Manager of five Winkleman's stores then retiring in 1985. Bob was a member of First Baptist church of Saginaw. He loved photography, conducting music and being the world's best dad and grandpa. Surviving are his loving wife, Betty; a son, Ron (Jennifer) Sharrer; a daughter, Linda Hall; two grandchildren, Christine (Jeff) Haner and Daniel (Janet) Kwaiser; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nick, Jamie, William, and Danielle and a great-great granddaughter, Emily. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by a daughter, Nadene Kwaiser, two brothers and three sisters. In accordance with Bob's wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Bob's family at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. MILITARY- Committal and Military Honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, Michigan FUNERAL- Memorial Service honoring Bob, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Beacon of Hope Church (First Baptist Church of Saginaw), 2109 W. Michigan. Pastor Tucker Gunneman will officiate. MEMORIALS- In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to honor Bob with memorials to Cartwright Hospice Residence or Heartland Hospice. Please feel free to share your thoughts and memories with Bob's family at the funeral home, the church or through www.deislerfuenralhome.com.
