FULSHER, James R. Sr. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Meadowview Manor. Age 88 years. James R. Fulsher, Sr. was born May 16, 1924 in Cooks, Michigan to the late Mitchell and Mildred (Bailey) Fulsher. He was married to Beatrice Weiss on April 10, 1943 in Augusta, GA. She predeceased him on December 9, 2008. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army Artillery during World War II under General Patton. He was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1975. Jim enjoyed bicycling and hunting for arrow heads with his metal detector. He also relished spending time with family and friends recounting war stories. James is survived by his son, James R. Fulsher, Jr.; his daughter-in-law, Gloria A. (Martinez) Fulsher; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Justo) Gonzalez, Michelle (Jeff) Mitchell, Lori Fulsher, and Robert (Amy) Fulsher; great grandchildren: Megan, Gabriella, Austin, Owen, Lauren, and Benjamin; his brother, Edwin Fulsher; and his sister, Bonnie (Larry) Hildreth. His son, Robert James Fulsher, preceded him in death. Jim's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Meadowview and Hospice of Hope, Lutheran Homes of Michigan for all of the love and care that they provided. In accordance with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. FUNERAL: James' Rite of Committal and Military Honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at St. Andrews Cemetery, 381 St. Andrews Rd. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to St. Stephen Catholic Church or V.F.W. Post 1859.
